Gallup-Certified CliftonStrengths® Coach

Your team's differences aren't
the problem.
They're the answer.

I help teams stop fighting their differences — and start using them. Because the friction in your team isn't a people problem. It's a strengths problem.

The problem

Your team is full of talented people. So why does everything feel harder than it should?

Miscommunication. Disengagement. People doing work that drains them. Managers who can't get the best out of their people — not because they don't care, but because nobody has ever mapped the team's actual wiring.

"These aren't personality problems. They're strengths problems — and they're fixable."

The team that can't communicate

Two brilliant people keep clashing — not because they're difficult, but because they're wired completely differently and no one's helped them see it.

The disengaged high performer

Your best employee is checking out. They're capable of so much more — but they're stuck doing work that doesn't use what they're actually great at.

The manager guessing in the dark

You know your people are talented. You just don't have a framework for how to unlock them — so you manage everyone the same way and wonder why it isn't working.

The post-layoff culture problem

Your team survived the cuts. Now they need to rebuild trust, reset roles, and find a new rhythm. That doesn't happen on its own.

I'm Kat Frati.

I'm a Gallup-Certified CliftonStrengths® Coach with over 20 years in tech — from early internet research at MITRE to navigating software teams at DeLorme (yes, the Guinness World Record globe) to building and selling my own company to $1M in two years.

I know what teams look like from the inside. I know why they struggle. And I know that the CliftonStrengths framework — when it's applied right, not just as a workshop you forget by Friday — actually changes how people work together.

Common questions

Everything you need to know

What is CliftonStrengths coaching, and how is it different from a personality test?

CliftonStrengths (formerly StrengthsFinder) is a Gallup assessment that identifies your top natural talents out of 34 themes — things like Strategic, Empathy, Achiever, or Ideation. Unlike personality tests, it doesn't put you in a box or tell you what you can't do. It tells you what you're hardwired to do brilliantly, then we build on that. The coaching layer is what turns a report into a real change in how your team works.

How is strengths coaching different from a typical team-building workshop?

Most team-building workshops are one-and-done: a fun afternoon that people forget by Friday. Strengths coaching gives your team a shared language and framework they can use every day — in 1:1s, in conflict, in hiring, in feedback conversations. The goal isn't a good day. It's a different way of working that actually sticks.

Do we all need to take the CliftonStrengths assessment before we start?

Yes — the assessment is the foundation. For The Spark (single workshop), everyone takes the Top 5 assessment (~$25/person, billed separately at cost). For The Build and The Embed, I recommend the full 34 report so we can see the whole picture. I'll handle all the logistics; you just send me a list of names and emails.

How much does a CliftonStrengths team workshop cost?

A single facilitated workshop (The Spark) starts at $1,200–$1,500 plus assessment costs. A 60-day engagement (The Build) runs $4,500–$6,500 depending on team size. A 6-month embedded partnership (The Embed) is $12,000–$18,000, billed monthly or quarterly. All engagements start with a free 20-minute discovery call, and assessment costs are always passed through at cost — no markup.

We just went through layoffs. Is this the right time for strengths work?

It might be exactly the right time. Post-layoff teams are often rebuilding trust, renegotiating roles, and trying to find a new rhythm with fewer people. Strengths work gives survivors a framework for understanding each other, reducing friction, and contributing in ways that actually fit them — which matters a lot when everyone's already stretched thin.

What size teams do you work with?

The Spark is designed for small teams of 3–8 people. The Build works best for teams of 5–15. For larger organizations, we can scope a custom engagement — reach out and we'll figure out what makes sense. I also work with individual leaders and managers separately through Just Become You.

Do sessions happen in person or virtually?

Both. I work with remote and hybrid teams across the country via Zoom, and I'm available for in-person sessions for teams in the New England area. Either way, the depth of the work is the same — CliftonStrengths translates well to virtual formats because the conversations are the product, not the room.

What makes you different from other Gallup-Certified coaches?

I've spent 20+ years inside tech companies — as an engineer, a team lead, and a founder. I'm not translating theory into your world. I've lived it. I know what a sprint planning meeting feels like when two people with completely different wiring are trying to align on priorities. That context changes how I apply the framework — it's specific, practical, and built for the way tech teams actually work.
